Jaysh al-Nasr was an alliance of Free Syrian Army brigades active mainly in Hama governorate. It was formed by three groups in August 2015 and was initially concentrated in the al-Ghab Plain region in the northwest. A fourth group joined in October. As the leading non-jihadi formation in Hama, Jaysh al-Nasr came under much pressure from both the al-Nusra-dominated Islamic Emirate of the Levant and the Assad government. In DATE TBD, however, both of these adversaries withdrew forces from Hama to address situations in other parts of the country, leaving Jaysh al-Nasr and other FSA brigades an opportunity to launch a series of offenses in 2016-2017. By the end of the war, half of Hama was in rebel hands.
