The Islamic Revolutionary Salvation Front was a small Free Syrian Army unit originally based in Deir ez-Zor governorate. It was formed in February 2014 to fight the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, which was then engaged in full-on war with its former rebel allies. Over the course of the year, ISIS successfully captured almost all of Deir ez-Zor; the IRSF was pushed out in April. The group fled to Hama and fought both ISIS and the Syrian government. In DATE TBD it returned to Deir ez-Zor alongside several other Deiri FSA groups to flush out the Islamic Emirate of the Levant.
