The 46th Division was a Free Syrian Army unit based in Hama and southern Aleppo. Formed in February 2015, it received and deployed TOW anti-tank missiles from the CIA later that year during the Russian-backed Syrian government offensive in Hama. Although not as prominent as other Hama-based rebel groups like Jaysh al-Nasr, its defense of positions along the eastern Hama-Aleppo border contributed significantly to the survival of Hama's rebels during the Russian intervention.
